As a group affiliated with Calvary Lutheran Church, our purpose is to meet high school students at the center of their lives and guide them in Christ centered fellowship that allows them to grow individually in their relationship with Christ and become socially committed to sharing their love of Christ with others.
The intention of Christ Teens is to develop:
Fellowship: Connecting and associating with others as Christ associated with all
Discipleship: Learning about Christ and what His purpose is for our lives.
Evangelism: Being passionate in sharing the saving Gospel
Service: Showing God's love through our actions in helping others
Worship: Experiencing God's love through His Word.
Christ Teen members are high school students.
Christ Teens has begun its new year with an enthusiastic group of wonderful teens who are getting to know each other and share their love of the Lord with each other. Our weekly Bible studies have been focusing on the power of prayer for not only ourselves, but also for each other and our neighbors near and far, too. In September we took our group into the great outdoors and got grilling! We all enjoyed a delicious meal of burgers and hot dogs with plenty of side dishes at a local park in Chandler, and then took to the field for a game of "mushball" that had everyone swinging the bat and running the bases! As we get to know each other, our time together has become even more lively and fun.
With the Christmas season approaching, Calvary's Christ Teens will be helping with a Toys for Tots service activity for the military families who live in our community, and we are also looking forward to an evening of Christmas caroling, where we will be visiting our homebound members' homes and care facilities to bring the season's blessings right to their dorrsteps. We feel very blessed to have such a great group of teens at Calvary!
